A Project-Based AI & IoT Learning Program at Longjin Middle School, Shenzhen

How can students use AI and technology to explore real-world challenges?

At Longjin Middle School in Shenzhen, students used the AuraPi AIoT Maker Kit to develop projects around the theme of Ocean Technology, combining AI, programming, sensors, IoT and hands-on engineering in a project-based learning environment.

Rather than learning individual technologies in isolation, students were encouraged to connect what they learned with real-world marine applications and transform their ideas into working projects.

From Technology Learning to Real-World Applications

The program introduced students to AI and IoT through the context of ocean technology.

Using AuraPi as the core learning platform, students explored how technologies such as sensors, programming, intelligent control and AI perception can be applied to marine-related scenarios.

The learning process moved progressively from:

Explore → Design → Build → Program → Test → Improve

This allowed students to experience the complete process of turning an idea into a functional technology project.

Learning Through an Ocean Technology Theme

Instead of starting with abstract AI concepts, the course used Ocean Technology as a real-world theme to connect different areas of learning.

Students explored topics involving:

AI · IoT · Sensors · Programming · Intelligent Control · Engineering Design

Through hands-on activities, they learned how different technologies can work together to collect information, respond to environmental conditions and create intelligent solutions.

From Ideas to Student Projects

A key part of the program was encouraging students to become creators rather than simply users of technology.

With AuraPi, students could combine hardware, software and sensors to design and develop their own ocean-themed technology projects.

Throughout the process, students practiced not only programming and AI skills, but also problem solving, engineering thinking, experimentation and teamwork.

Connecting AI Education with Interdisciplinary Learning

The project demonstrates how AuraPi can go beyond a conventional coding course.

By combining AI and IoT with themes such as ocean science and engineering, schools can create interdisciplinary learning experiences that connect technology with real-world subjects.

This approach provides educators with greater flexibility to develop programs around different themes while using the same AIoT learning platform.

A Flexible Model for Education Partners

The Longjin Middle School project demonstrates another way AuraPi can be implemented in schools: theme-based AI education.

For international education partners, the same model can be adapted to different learning themes, such as:

Ocean Technology · Smart Agriculture · Smart City · Environmental Monitoring · Intelligent Transportation

This allows partners to develop localized programs around regional education priorities while maintaining a common AI and IoT learning framework.

By combining AuraPi + Curriculum + Real-World Themes + Project-Based Learning, MöoTech helps education partners move beyond individual hardware products and deliver more complete AI learning experiences.
